Attending SeaShorts 2021

When and where will SeaShorts 2021 take place?

This year’s edition of SeaShorts Film Festival runs from 25 August – 2 September, taking place entirely online through our website and will be available only for Southeast Asia. Check out our Festival Schedule for specific program dates and times!

What can I find at SeaShorts 2021?

Please note that all of our dates and times are in GMT+8 Malaysia time.

Over 60 short films from Southeast Asia and beyond, as well as filmmaker Q&A sessions, masterclasses, forums, and workshops. Check out the Program Overview!

How does the online edition work?

All films will be screened through our streaming platform. Filmmaker Q&A sessions, workshops, and forums will be streamed on the SeaShorts Facebook page. Masterclasses will be held via Zoom Webinar and will not be livestreamed.

Purchase a Festival Pass here: festival.seashorts.org
(Some anti-virus softwares will warn you about entering the streaming website – please don’t worry, this is the correct URL and the website is safe!)

Once you set up your account, you’ll be able to log in and watch all of the festival films on the platform, and you’ll receive Zoom Webinar links to the masterclasses.

I’m an invited filmmaker/guest and I’m supposed to receive a complimentary Festival Pass. How does this work?

You will receive an email from support@vhx.tv with instructions on how to activate your Festival Pass! After activating it, everything else will be the same as the details above.

If you have not received the email, or if you have any questions about this, please email us at: festival@seashorts.org
Please do not reply to support@vhx.tv because it is an automatic email from the streaming platform, and we will not be able to see it.

How does the Festival Pass pricing work?

The standard price of one SeaShorts 2021 Festival Pass is $15 USD. This gives you access to all of the offerings outlined above.

Our streaming platform runs on Vimeo OTT, which is normally used for ongoing subscription services. However, because SeaShorts is a time-limited event, instead you will only make a single payment to subscribe to the platform during the festival period.

After 2 September, we will cancel your account in order to prevent the automatic subscription renewal, so you will not be charged more than one time.

If I change my mind, can I have a refund?

Unfortunately, pass sales are final and non-refundable.

When do ticket sales end?

Ticket sales end on the last day of the festival, 2 September 2021.

Are there any geographic restrictions to access the festival’s offerings?

In order to help our participating filmmakers preserve their films’ premiere status for other festivals, our film programs will be geo-blocked. The festival streaming platform, as well as our masterclasses, will only be available in Southeast Asia. Only our content on Facebook will be available internationally and to the general public.

To those outside the region – our apologies, and thank you very much for your interest! We hope you can join us for the next edition.

Outside of the films, our Q&A sessions, forums, and workshops will be available for all, even outside Southeast Asia, on the Facebook page.

Where can I interact with other attendees throughout the festival?

You can join us on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

I represent a brand/company that would love to sponsor the festival; how do I go about it?

We’re always on the lookout for new partnerships! Please connect with us at: festival@seashorts.org

I’m a media representative that would love to cover the festival; do you have any media passes available?

Yes! Please check out our Press Room. For any other inquiries, you may also contact us at: publicity@seashorts.org
